The 2018 UnGala
Our 2018 UnGala was an unbridled success. We were thrilled to have Untourists, investees, investors, supporters and Foundation family all in one room. The energy was amazing. Thank you to Jay and Randi Coen Gilbert for opening their home to all of us.
Our 2018 UnDreamed Of Award winner was Yve-Car Momperousse of Kreyol Essence. Her company supports farmers and workers in Haiti by sourcing sustainable black castor beans for superior natural beauty products which can be found at Whole Foods and online. Some of us remember castor oil as something our grandparents forced us to take by mouth, but some know that black castor oil is a wonderful hair and skin product. (Samples were given to each guest and I can attest that the hand and body butter is scrumptious.)
We had a ethical wonderful fashion show from wearwell and keynote speech from Rachel Faller of tonlé. They highlighted that fair trade and ethical fashion is stylish and within reach for most of us — and absolutely necessary. (Videos coming soon!)
We want to thank Sterling Pig Brewery for the donation of the delicious Snuffler Ale, and to wearwell for clothing our models. Thank you to Brothers Catering of Chester for the fantastic food. And thanks to our fantastic Board who helped to make this all possible!
