On this Giving Tuesday, we are pleased to announce receiving a $250,000 grant from Expedia® as part of the travel company’s new Made to Travel™ Fund, a program that awards grants to nonprofits that share the common goal of removing barriers to travel. The grant was awarded to the UnTours Foundation in recognition of its commitment to creating greater access to life-changing travel experiences. Funds will support our Reset Tourism Fund, which provides flexible capital to businesses building a better future for the travel industry.
“We are excited and honored to receive this grant funding from Expedia to grow our Reset Tourism Fund and invest more dollars into world-changing companies,” says Jonathan Coleman, UnTours Foundation Co-CEO, “They not only create positive social and environmental impact in their communities but also offer meaningful experiences for all travelers–especially those from groups who the industry has historically underserved.”
“We launched the Made to Travel Fund because travel is transformative and has the power to change perspectives and serve as an economic driver for many communities,” says Aditi Mohapatra, vice president of Global Social Impact and Sustainability at Expedia Group. “Through this Fund, Expedia is committed to ongoing investment in organizations doing incredible work to increase equity and access to travel in their communities.”
