It’s just like that favorite meme of ours. How it started. How it’s going….
It’s time to check in to see how the dynamic duo at the helm of the Untours Foundation are getting on. Elizabeth says she is delighted by Jonathan’s energy and ideas. He’s jumped into so many aspects of the Untours Foundation operations and fundraising, even helping on the Untours travel side as needed.
Elizabeth and Jonathan work remotely, connecting multiple times a week on Zoom and by phone. From his home base in upstate New York, Jonathan coordinates new initiatives like Hal’s Giving Club and the Resest Tourism Fund. Elizabeth steers the ship from Untours HQ in Media and from her home office, focusing on Mission Aligned Investing, interfacing with investees, and managing donations, among other things.
At least once a quarter, they meet up in person when Jonathan travels to the Pennsylvania office. On his last trip in, we got some good photos and checked in with the dynamic duo to see how it’s going.
Jonathan: Elizabeth is the perfect combination of humility, wisdom, and ferocity. It makes her an ideal partner in our work and I’ve learned an incredible amount from her in my short time as her colleague. She’s been leading the Untours Foundation for over 20 years and has graciously welcomed me to the team as her co-leader. This is no easy task, especially when she has to navigate through my regular passion-filled monologues about new ideas to grow our impact and influence as a foundation.
Elizabeth: Passion-filled monologues. Oh, that makes me laugh. Truly, Jonathan has so much Killough in him! Yes, Jonathan is the real deal. It is great to have a partner to help move us forward and bring new energy and ideas to our Untours Foundation.
Jonathan: I was added to the team to bring new energy, but Elizabeth already has it in spades. Her fire burns bright. I’ve learned that I’m just here to add some fuel onto the flames that Hal started long ago and that she has expertly shepherded for the last two decades.
Stay tuned for more, and read about Hal’s Giving Club, our Mission Aligned Investing work, or the Reset Tourism Fund in the meantime.
