Daniel Quintana has been working in the tourism industry for more than a decade, with a strong emphasis on sustainable and community-based tourism across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Before joining the UnTours Foundation team, Daniel played a key role at I Like Local, a UNWTO-awarded community-based tourism platform that connects travelers with local entrepreneurs and organizations in Asia and Africa, ensuring they receive a fair share of tourism revenue. In 2021, Daniel’s impactful work was recognized when he was named a Next Generation Leader by the World Tourism Forum Lucerne.
Currently, Daniel is pursuing a master’s degree in international development, where his research focuses on how the tourism industry can foster more sustainable, inclusive, and impactful business models for local entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and communities worldwide. A passionate photographer, Daniel’s work has been featured by travel brands and publications around the world.
Throughout his career, Daniel has lived and worked in several cities around the world, including Shanghai, Hong Kong, Chiang Mai, and Nairobi, which have helped shape his global perspective and commitment to responsible tourism and community impact.
