Embarking on the journey to B Corp Certification is like setting out on an epic adventure. This path is for those who dare to redefine success in business, combining profit with purpose. Here’s a preview:
[1] Answer the Call
Something inside your soul knows your business was meant for more and can be achieve a higher purpose. When your team is ready, lean on us for resources, advice, and guidance. Consider us your allies on this journey!Â
[2] Pack for Your Journey
This transformation calls for preparation. The first step is to study the map to B Corp Certification, planning for the route ahead and the obstacles that await. Then, pack your tools and get ready to measure your impact against B Lab’s standards. You’ll want company on this journey, so rally your adventuring team and start planning!

[3] Your First Hurdle
The crux of this journey is the B Impact Assessment, a free online tool to determine your certification eligibility based on your company’s social, environmental, and governance performance.
Once you’ve completed all five impact areas pertaining to your company’s various stakeholders (Governance, Community, Workers, Environment, and Customers), you will be able to see your comprehensive score and complete the Disclosure Questionnaire.
You’ve passed your first trial if your score is over the 80-point benchmark. If your score is below the 80-point benchmark, you have more training to do—and we can help you with an Improvement Plan so you can surmount this hurdle!
[4] Pass the Test
Honors such as a B Corp Certification necessarily have high standards. Your next hurdle is verifying your impact with a team member from B Lab Global who will evaluate your B Impact Assessment. You will have a review call with a standards analyst to go over your assessment in depth to make sure everything is up to standard.
[5] Celebrate Your Certification
Once you overcome these challenges, you’ve reached your destination: certification. You can proudly sign the B Corp Agreement and Declaration of Interdependence. Celebrate with your whole business how far you’ve come on this adventure!
[6] Never Stop Adventuring
You successfully stepped into the world of B Corps, but your journey is just beginning. With B Corp Certification comes great responsibility to meet strict social and environmental standards. These standards push your business to go above and beyond others. You’ll need to keep raising the bar, improving your impact over time.
