Good Trip Adventures

Good Trip Adventures is on a mission to make the great outdoors a place where everyone feels welcome. Too often, adventure travel has been built for a select few, but Good Trip Adventures is changing that. With expertly crafted trips across 33 national parks, they take the stress out of planning so travelers of all backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels can simply show up and soak in the magic of nature. From the granite cliffs of Yosemite to Utah’s red rock canyons and Glacier’s alpine lakes, Good Trip Adventures makes exploring these breathtaking landscapes easy, accessible, and deeply meaningful. They handle the details like permits, logistics, and accommodations so travelers can focus on the joy of adventure, the thrill of discovery, and the connections they make along the way. Their team, made up mostly of women, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC guides, isn’t just leading trips. They are changing the face of the outdoor industry, proving that everyone deserves to feel at home in the wild.

The Good Trip Adventures Origin Story

At the heart of Good Trip Adventures is Megan Kennedy, a guide, educator, and fierce advocate for a more inclusive and sustainable outdoor industry. She believes that adventure should be for everyone, not just those who have historically had easy access to it. Megan’s love for the outdoors started as a kayak guide in Wales, where she spent her days navigating wild waters and sharing stories of the landscape. Back in the U.S., she led day hikes in New York, which soon grew into multi-day expeditions across the Northeast and then into week-long adventures around the world. In 2017, she took her passion to the next level, earning a Master’s in Outdoor Education at the University of Edinburgh before heading to Montana to guide in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. As a Montana Master Naturalist and Wilderness EMT, she weaves together safety, deep environmental knowledge, and powerful storytelling, making every trip a chance to learn, grow, and connect. Along the way, Megan saw firsthand how many people were left out of outdoor spaces. Whether due to financial barriers, lack of representation, or accessibility challenges, far too many people were missing out on the transformative power of nature. She knew something had to change. So, she built Good Trip Adventures to open the doors wide, ensuring that adventure travel wasn’t just for some, but for all.

How Good Trip Adventures Is Making A Positive Impact

Good Trip Adventures is breaking barriers in the outdoor industry by ensuring that leadership reflects the diversity of the world we live in. Over 75% of their guides are women, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC, bringing new voices and perspectives to adventure travel. To create real opportunities, the company covers Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification for guides from underrepresented backgrounds and offers a certain number of fully funded trips per year for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ travelers, making national park experiences financially accessible to those who have historically been left out. Good Trip is also leading the way in accessible travel. They are one of the only adventure companies offering national park trips designed by and for travelers with disabilities. From personalized support and experienced guides to accessible lodging, transportation, and adaptive gear, every trip is intentionally built to ensure that all travelers feel welcome, capable, and at home in nature. Sustainability is woven into everything they do. The company offsets 50% of carbon emissions from participant flights and provides resources for travelers to offset the rest. They partner with U.S. National Parks to design itineraries that ease pressure on overcrowded trails and protect fragile ecosystems. Every guide is trained in Leave No Trace principles, ensuring travelers understand how to explore responsibly.

Good Trip Adventures also gives away free trips every year, ensuring that diverse travelers have the opportunity to experience the outdoors regardless of their financial circumstances. They provide free online itineraries, park reviews, and travel guides, making national parks more accessible for independent travelers who want to explore on their own.
