Rachel Faller was a Fulbright scholar studying the devastating impacts of “fast fashion” in Cambodia – the source of many of our clothes here in the West – with no intention of becoming an entrepreneur. After witnessing the horrific working conditions in the fashion industry and the waste of tons of fabric (literally tons and tons), she was inspired to start tonlé offering a beautiful workspace for employees, truly fair wages, space for creativity, and the production of clothing made out of leftover fabric from textile factories. Here’s a fun and superb 4 minute video about the company.
