Honoring Businesses Who Raise the Bar

The UnDreamed of Award

This fun award, which comes with a $5,000 prize, is the brainchild of the anonymous donors who fund it. Established in 2016, the award honors businesses that raise the bar in their field reflecting the UnTours Foundation’s mission and values of creating dignified work and positive social, economic, and environmental change.

The Hal Taussig Award

This award is named after our beloved founder, Hal, and is presented by B Lab to honor leaders who follow in Hal’s footsteps by using business as a force for good. B Lab is the nonprofit behind the global movement of Certified B Corporations, which are companies that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, as well as public transparency and accountability.

In the late 1990s, Hal connected with the individuals who would go on to become the co-founders of B Lab. According to B Lab Co-Founder Jay Coen Gilbert, “Hal said some of the most challenging, provocative, and aspirational things to me that really inspired the B Corp movement to get off a piece of paper and into the real world.”

First presented in 2011, the Hal Taussig Award is given by B Lab at every Champions Retreat to an individual who most embodies the highest aspirations of the B Corp movement. The award has been presented to 12 exceptional individuals who carry on Hal’s vibrant, tenacious, and loving spirit by leading their respective B Corps to new heights of impact and radical kindness.

Adventure Innovation Challenge

The Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) and UnTours Foundation hosted the inaugural Adventure Innovation Challenge at the 2023 Adventure Travel World Summit in Hokkaido, Japan. This dynamic pitch competition showcased three innovative, impact-focused tourism businesses, each competing for a share of $7,500 in cash prizes and the opportunity to secure up to $50,000 in investment from the UnTours Foundation’s Reset Tourism Fund.
