Tosheka upcycles plastic bags while providing income to over 400 people.

Tosheka Textiles, creators of gorgeous purses, clothing and other textiles, employs and trains Kenyan women to weave and crochet its designs using organic, recycled, materials and even plastic bags! They have a new online shop which makes it easy to purchase their beautiful bags.

In addition to creating employment using fair labor practices, the company’s mission is to establish a broad recycling program to collect plastic bags that litter parts of Kenya and eventually the oceans.

“Our products are produced using techniques that preserve culture, environment and empower sustainable economic community.”- Lucy and Herman Bigham

News(November 2014): Tosheka has secured government funding in Kenya to launch 500 organic cotton farmers on 700 acres (and up to 4,500 farmers on 7,000 acres over four years!) who will supply Tosheka.
